A Surfboard for Riding the Wave

A study to present an overview of the situation regarding research data in the KE partner countries, in response to the EC report 'Riding the Wave'

1 November 2011 - 30 November 2012,  00:00 - 00:00,

In November 2011, the Knowledge Exchange Research Data expert group produced the report ‘Riding the Wave', which called for collaborative data infrastructure to enable researchers and other stakeholders from education, society and business to use, re-use and exploit research data to the maximum benefit of science and society.

The Knowledge Exchange partners have embraced this vision and commissioned the report ‘A Surfboard for Riding the Wave', which translates the original European Commision report 'Riding the Wave' into actions for the four partner countries and beyond.

A Surfboard for Riding the Wave presents an overview of the present situation regarding research data in Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom and offers broad outlines for realising a collaborative data infrastructure. An action programme at the level of four countries will require the involvement of all stakeholders from the scientific community.
