Activities

There is a range of ongoing activity areas in Knowledge Exchange aiming at the partner commitment to make a layer of scholarly and scientific content openly available on the Internet.

These areas are clearly intended to encourage open access to the tools of science and scholarship for the higher education and research communities. They also contribute toward building an integrated repository infrastructure and exploring new developments in the future of publishing. There is a specific focus is on the development of storage, accessibility and quality assurance of digitally published research data. Another area of activity is directed at facilitating the collaboration of researchers through the use of virtual research environments. And finally Libraries in the Digital Age is concentrating on the role the library can play in collecting digitised materials specifically for research purposes.

Workshops, Studies and Reports

Aside from the organisation of expert workshops related to the areas mentioned above, Knowledge Exchange also commissions studies and reports. Please refer to the various topics to find information on the activities which have taken place and and are underway.

Other Activities and Topics

In the past several other topics have also been addressed within Knowledge Exchange. In some cases the work was completed and in other cases it was decided that the topic was suitably covered in other bodies. In other cases once off workshops have been organised to discuss a specific topic relevant to the partners.

An overview of these other activities can be found here.
